South shore has the casinos and is pretty hectic in the summer. North shore is a little nicer IMHO and much more eye candy. Incline (north shore) has a few higher end hotels, but Tahoe City would be my first choice. Good luck...
I'm going into Minder Airport later this month. What end of the lake is that near? We normally stay at Marriotts but will switch for a really good place.TC
I concur with the Tahoe City or Incline. Very nice. Pretty $$ this time of year though. Well, pretty $$ all of the time actually. Lots of great hiking and Mountain Biking if your are so inclined. PM and I will give you details.
Went last year on a trip and stayed at the Cal-Neva resort on the north side of the lake and loved it. It is an older place with alot of history. At one time it was owned by Frank Sinatra and was a hot spot for the Hollywood types. It sits right on the California-Nevada border and there is a room were they have a line painted were the state line is. There's a casino there if you want to indulge and some good little bar/rest. near by. I've heard the south shore has more happening down there, but I was perfectly happy on the northside. Have fun but don't expect to do too much swimming, the water is always cold!!!!! Boxflyr
