Hello,
I am going to be flying out of Grand Forks on November 8th. I heard that Mesaba might be striking soon. If there is a strike, when would it start? I am scheduled to fly on a DC-9. Do the Mesaba pilots fly that to Minneapolis or is that a Northwest pilot that flies that? Thanks.

Northwest Airlines, flies the DC-9 out of Grand Forks to MSP. Mesaba does not operate any DC-9 aircraft. Also FYI, Mesaba can not strike until the 30 day cooling off period ends, in late November.

There has been no proffer of arbitration from the NMB as of yet so no 30 day cooling off period has begun. I don't think that will happen until after the holidays. As to when a strike could occur is anybodys guess. Hopefully it won't come to that.......
