I keep gettin knocked out of the jumpseat on CHQ, cause they keep having to bump rev and non-rev because the P.O.S. can't haul all it can hold?

50 seats full and a couple thousand LBS of cargo?

what gives?

also they tell me tha thing has a real low max ZFW?

nice P.O.S. CHQ!?!?!

flame away

P.S. I fly one of those CRJ's that can do it all!

:)

Oh no, not this debate AGAIN?!?

Long and skinny vs. short and fat, who freakin' cares?

Where were you flying? What kind of weather? (i.e., needed an alternate?) We do get weight-limited at times, but usually that only happens on long hauls with crappy wx. And if you say you've never been weight-limited, then you lie like a rug.

Not quite. I've seen many a CRJ with a weight restriction. When I used to be a ramper with Air Whiskey we used to have to take people and ski equipment off of planes headed to DEN.

As far as the ERJ and CRJ, I like them both. The ERJ only wins with me b/c of a bigger cockpit.

YO, embraerdriver so its mesa's fault that the ERJ had a weight limit that day? that is the most stupid mesa bash I have ever seen. good god man put some effort into it next time.

Someone doesn't catch sarcasm I think... ;)

Only 'cause the FEDs bumped up Pax weight. Since you know it all anyway I'll review some ERJ statistics for you.

1) It is almost impossible to have a ZFW issue in the -145. MLW is often an issue since the burn has to be over 6k. If we have an alternate, MLW is usually the issue. On the -135 (37 seats) ZFW is a problem if the load us with 37 pax and 56 bags.

2) All the ERJ figures were calculated on 220 lb pax. So if everyone has a carryon or checked bag, it sucks.

3) So you can do your own math: Each pax = 197 in the winter/192 other times. Planeside carryon = 22 Checked = 30

By the way, what's your commute legs? That way I can watch for you.

Does CHQ run all LR's or do they have ER's. I've never had a ZFW issue in the LR but the ER's it happens all the time. Otherwise if its a LR and a short flight the issue is landing weight. ALthough most people can find a way to deal with that one.

My guess is we are looking for a Skywest pilot commuting between DFW and MSY

We got 3 brokearse MP's- a Eurotrash ER. It has a lower takeoff weight than a 140. They were Greek, and cheap. They are white with a blue or red tail.

I don't mind the fact that we picked those up cheap. I just hate it when they're put on an EWR-STL leg, or something stupid like that. They're fine for backing up short hauls, but nothing else.

For once I actually like what the FAA did: they "right-sized" the passengers. I was sick and tired of regularly taking off above max gross even though we were legal on paper.

This is not the fault of any particular airline. Both the ERJ and CRJ are derivatives of airplanes not intented to be Regional Jets. It takes a clean-sheet design to build an airliner that can carry a full load over a practical stage length. Airlines are asking these planes to do something they weren't designed to do. The best we can hope for is that pax loads increase back to where mainline jets can take over and the Small Jets can serve markets they're designed to fly.

Dude

There's an easy fix out there....

software update to the fadecs which will allow 102% spin in the core, resulting in extra 500-1000 lbs thrust per side(forgot how much, exactly, sorry).

Mesa looked at this two years ago. it only costs @10,000 per plane, or so I've been told.

I guess we don't have enough experience with these motors yet to verify out hot section/inspections/limits/wear like we have with the good old PT6, which wouls spin up until the g**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** blades flew off( I miss that engine).

NOT MY POST!

So I just got home from a trip,

My Air Whiskey buddy (not my buddy any more) tells me that the other night he was drunk and when he went to log on to flightinfo.com on his computer, it was still logged on as me!?!

(you see where I am going with this?)

A--hole decides to post the "whats with the 50 seat ERJ" post in my name, because I told him I got knocked out of the jumpseat on CHQ from DFW-MSY a few days earlier.

Nice friend hugh?

so I am sorry for his a--holeness, and I hope he has not put my jumpseatability/commutability at risk,

thanks again to all the CHQ and ASA crews that have let me sit in the jump and got me home to MSY in the last couple of months, the loads have been bad!

-GOO

P.S. remember to always log out! (even at friends houses)

Unlikely. We only have a few reserve guys in DFW and I think they live in DFW otherwise they would commute somewhere where they could hold a line and have more days off. We don't have a base in MSY.

IN the goo... i doubt it... coming from the mind your own business attitude and the way the letter was written.....

Are you from MSY? I recently moved to STL from MSY, and I really miss it.
