Whats up with Valero?

I have recieved several emails from Valero HR stating:

Thank you for your interest in the Valero Energy Corporation and the Captain position. We appreciate your patience while we review all qualified applicants, as Valero's recruitment process is a thorough and comprehensive process.
We will notify you when the status of the job or your candidacy changes. Again, thank you for your interest in career opportunities with Valero.

this last email was recieved December 2, 2005. I thought that this position was filled? Anybody have any info on what is going on over there?

Here's what I received...

"Thank you for your interest in Valero. This letter is to inform you that we have reviewed your application. Based on the information you have submitted, your education and experience are not an appropriate match for the position of Captain . We appreciate your interest and will keep your resume on file for one year.

Again, thank you for your interest in the Valero Energy Corporation."

Not a surprise to me given my experience level (although I do have a B.S. degree and 2500 hours of LJ60.) At least the canned response you received has hope. Good luck!!!
