Heard it was a merger with United, Jet Blue & a new airline called International Texas. Call sign........ U BLU IT
 
It's called what happens with a pilot group is so weakened by fear that all they know how to do is picket in front of a public that really doesn't care. Obama has appointed a very labor-friendly NMB. Someone's gettin' released this time around......

I think there is a good chance this is true. What happens with Spirit, and possibly AirTran, in short order, will help determine how quickly groups get to self help under this administration. If they go smoothly, quickly, with not much collateral damage, there will be more groups to get to self help.

Politically, I doubt Washington, despite campaign promises, has much stomach for major airline disruptions at the outset of the economic recovery. (Hope I'm wrong on this.)
 
Good point, but with all due respect to Spirit pilots it won't bring the country to a standstill. If it were a Legacy it would be different. With that said however, that could be an advantage where they will be allowed to be released and strike....

If you call going on strike an advantage. But given their management it seems the only road left.
