I am trying to get an idea about the interview process at CS. I have all the information from aviation interviews and have spent a lot of time searching Flightinfo, but I haven’t been able to find much consistency in the interview process. Here is what I have pieced together, is this pretty close?

  • Phone screening (possibly more than once).
  • Interview in person at Greenwich, CT (have to get myself there and hotel is on me).
  • Interview consists of up to four 1-on-1 interviews ending with the DO. (no interview with the DO = no job).
  • Interview consists of mostly HR/Customer Service questions with few technical questions.
  • No simulator ride.
I seriously want to work for Citation Shares and would like to get an idea of the interview process to help prepare. Any help on where I have things out of whack above would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

There is always a process at each company that has been tested, tried, true, and trusted by the company. CS is no different, but all companies occasionally alter their process for one reason or another. In large part your overview is correct. When I interviewed we were briefed (post paperwork, pre interview process) that if at any point during the interview a candidate was unsuitable, the interviewer would quietly and discreetly explain why and excuse the interviewee as to avoid embarrassment. On this particular day only three people interviewed applicants, not four. Four out of six applicants were hired. No one hired had less than 5000 hrs. They want higher time than posted mins. Notified of decision within 6 hours. (Average is 2 hrs) The interview lasted from 8am-1pm. It was very organized and extremely professional. You will know exactly when and who you will meet. The fourth interviewer would have put us at 1:30. I felt like I was treated like a potential client, not employee. Take 10 year record of all data for application paperwork, including references and phone numbers. (Actually only 5 years, but just in case.. ie high school)Take your bag to the interview so you can have the van take you straight to the airport if you want to leave on the mid bank, otherwise hotel will keep it at desk. In closing, you should truly be yourself. They are very good at figuring out who will fit their needs, and who they know will be happy. Not being yourself for the sake of a job will only serve to make everyone miserable. best to you!
