What's the hiring like a Airborne/DHL?

DHL does not operate an airline in the US. ABX Air or Astar fly their freight.

ABX Air has not hired in some time but there are rumors that we may hire soon. So far they're just rumors, though.

Astar has had some classes recently but I don't know if they're currently interviewing.
 
Word on the street is they're about to start hiring FE's like crazy. If you have a pulse, apply. Capts and FO's in about a year.
 
Forget which one, but i here they're hiring FE's real soon. To me Astar and ABX are pretty much the same company. Come to think of it, it's probably ABX. I think it's because they're bringing a bunch of the 8s back.

PFE's? or FE's upgradeable to F/O's?
 
Can't speak for ASTAR but ABX will probably do some hiring this year; it should be FEs and/or FOs. No more PFEs. When and if we'll start hiring is speculative at best, but we're short of crews so logic would dictate....

Logic in the aviation business??!! Say it ain't so................
 
I think there are bids out for 6-727 S/Os and 6-DC8 S/Os (as well a similar amount of upgrades) at ASTAR. I would guess these would be mostly new hires as there aren't that many 60+ pilots going back right now.
 
As of today, accepting internal resumes/recs, but not via HR. Hiring is not emminent or guaranteed but should happen later this year based on 33 retirements and 5-6 767s coming this year. Poolies will be hired first, after furloughees of course.

Skeds change every day....part of the delay is DHL has not committed any long term growth or skeds to either carrier.
