Is it how many stripes you wear and what side of the aircraft you sit on? What size and type aircraft you fly?
Or is it how much money you earn...along with work rules, rigs, quality of life, job stability, retirement/profit sharing, benefits, etc?
All other things being equal, would you rather make $160K as a Captain or $170K as an FO?
What if your $160K Captain job came with compromised QOL, poor management relations, and uncertain future job security, whereas the $170K FO job had great QOL, industry leading labor relations and off-the-charts job security?
What would you prefer?
