Yeah- everything has it's pros and cons- but I don't know many pilots lurking on "researcher" forums...

Ha... there are no researcher forums. If there were I'd probably hang out. No wait.. the conversation would be incredibly dull and I'd have no-one to insult.

I think I've mentioned more than once I have no expectation of changing anyone's mind. Most of the republican FOXtards here are too stupid to understand anything complex and will never change their minds or accept information from any source outside of FOX news or some radio DJ. This is nothing but a distraction where I vent out jerk-off comments and participate in the 'moron-a-thon'

Plus I'd much rather be a pilot, with my pay, pension, job security and schedule. Don't think that will work out though. Sigh....

Is it how many stripes you wear and what side of the aircraft you sit on? What size and type aircraft you fly?

Or is it how much money you earn...along with work rules, rigs, quality of life, job stability, retirement/profit sharing, benefits, etc?

All other things being equal, would you rather make $160K as a Captain or $170K as an FO?

What if your $160K Captain job came with compromised QOL, poor management relations, and uncertain future job security, whereas the $170K FO job had great QOL, industry leading labor relations and off-the-charts job security?

Nobody knows the answer to that question because what you want changes constantly; sometimes for good, well considered reasons and sometimes for ugly, selfish reasons. But there's no doubt that wants change constantly.

Take women for example: We're far enough down the timeline in the modern era of humanity that if women really knew what they wanted then somebody would've let the cat out of the bag by now and men would definitively know "what women want."

All of the above. :)

It's different for each person. Some people prefer QOL, while others would work 28 days a month for more money. Still others care more about being a captain, and will give up an incredible QOL for that left seat.

For me, it's mostly about the schedule. I bid standup lines because they allow me to be home every day of the month. I only make minimum guarantee as a result, but I'm ok with that. I'd rather make 70 hours and be home every day than make 100 hours and be gone half the month (or even a quarter of the month).
