Just curious...but from what I have heard in the past is that mgmt. at Pinnacle Airlines has tried to push pilots to do flights that exceeded duty times and sometimes with a combination of deferrals that would be uncomfortable for a pilot of any skill level, especially to new guys not familiar with the contract. It is my understanding that just about every pilot has wanted Flt. Ops. VP John Young to leave for a loooong time. Isn't it ironic that he leaves shortly after a PNCL crash? Was his leaving related to that tragic accident? Does anyone know if screw scheduling pushed the crew and threatened them in order to complete the flight?

I doubt anyone would acknowledge that here!

I thought he "pursued other opportunities" because of the Hoiday service problems. I really doubt that 3701 had anything to do with it--that would be admitting liability on the company's part--and I am sure that they plan to hang it on the flight crew (like most companies do). Being non-rev, it's under the radar for most people.

The answers to all of your questions are NO...

The holiday meltdown was the nail in the coffin for JY.

Not quite. Crew scheduling quite regularly, either out of ignorance or deliberate intent to cover a flight regardless of the consequences, will tell a crewmember that a particular assignment is legal when it is not; check out what SR had to say on our message board about it.

Otherwise, NO, to all of the above.

Just to clarify, the crew was a reserve crew and was assigned legally.
