Hi, i need a clarification about what is an AVASI-L?

Another question, how do you know you are within 10Nm of a navaid during the procedure turn when you don't have dme capability.

Thanks a lot for your help

For distance you should estimate your groundspeed and start the time when you pass the navaid. Then you can estimate your distance from it and know when to start your turn.

AVASI-L

Did you see that on a chart?

If so, it's VASI on the left side of the runway...can't remember what the "A" stants for.

If not, couldn't tell ya.
