So everyone keeps saying the bad companies seriously outnumber the good ones. What I'm wondering is, how do you find out how good or bad a company will be? What do you look for before the interview, what questions do you ask during the interview that will give you a clue as to how that operator will turn out?

Some questions that come to mind: "How does the company crew the airplanes ?" (staffing per aircraft), "How many days off per month, and are they scheduled or hard?", and my personal favorite: "What does the position pay and how are raises scheduled ?" The interviewer will either be truthful or not. If he is truthful, that's usually about the time I wake up.
