What keeps happening to the FI Virus threads???

There are no more moderators, the webmaster is only deleting things that will threaten the web traffic and keep people from clicking links that make him money.

I would suggest NOT running this forum on Internet Explorer, but rather the P.C. version of Chrome or even better yet, Safari, with all the scripts disabled and permissions required for everything, including cookie tracking.

Is that why the Gen Cheese thread is gone. He does not want the now and again lurker to know what an idiot Gen Lee is ?
 
Who knows... I find the General harmless, but then again I take everything on here with a very LARGE grain of salt, due to the nature of anonymous forums... ;)

I think I've got it all figured out. Maybe Gen'l Lee IS the webmaster! Maybe he just acts like a buffoon with that screen name to get people to log on to refute his glaring stupidity, hoping to add traffic and increase his advertisement revenue!

That seems to be the only logical explanation for some of the absurdity that comes out of the General's pie hole. Why, that zany evil genius....

Come to think of it, I've never seen the Webmaster and Generally Obnoxious at the same time. And if you put glasses on the Webmaster. ...
 
I run Kaspersky antivirus; once in a while it will block an ad on this site from loading, because it contains some sort of malware or virus. It seems to be from one of the ads, not the site itself.

For those of you who didn't know the history of Flightinfo, it was started around 1995 by a guy named Mark, to help fellow newbie pilots find employment, and to exchange info. It was mostly guys in their 20's and 30's who were clawing their way up the lower rungs of the airline ladder, looking for info about getting hired at regionals, or freight operators, or corporate gigs.

Mark got a job flying Learjets, I was flying CE402's to the islands, BlueDude was making the jump to the "mighty" Brasilia, and Lear70 was putting baseball cards in the spokes of his bike tires . . . . ;).

Mark had built the site himself, and paid for the hosting, but from time to time, he would ask us to contribute to the cost of hosting/maintaining the site. It was an informal process, but we would kick in what we he needed to get through the year. . . . . kind of like a telethon for FI junkies. :laugh:

Unfortunately, Mark was lost in a crash about ten years ago. The current Webmaster (who was either a friend or a relative) stepped forward to try to monetize the site, with the proceeds going to Mark's family . . . so the ad revenue does go to a good cause. :D

I still have a few PM's from Mark, usually sent in response to pleas from Ty to be let out of the penalty box early, following some sort of transgression.:laugh:

This topic reminded me . . . . . I have a pic of an entire 737 crew, posing in the jetway, with their arms around Ron Jeremy. It was my avatar for a while.

Wow, something we FATties may actually be able to teach you SWA guys something about... Plenty of reasons to continue manscaping on Reserve. Case in point: new-hire reserve F/A's sitting ready reserve in MCO.

(not that I'd know anything about that)
