I heard from a friend of mine who works there that they just cut the August Upgrade class in half and they canceled interviews for hiring? Also read on this site that they are closing ORF, ALB, and JHW!

I think jhw is closing but that is it as far as i have heard. Don't know about the upgrade classes getting cut and i have heard that there are new hired classes through october.

Captains keep getting hired, several to southwest recently, so it seems they will keep needing some upgrades in the months to come. Not sure why the august class isn't larger.

Dont think any of that info is accurate accept JHW, but Regions can't get it together to take over the route so it may not close for a while. ALB is a maintenance base and I haven't heard anything remotely close to a closure. I have heard ORF maybe long term though. Your friend shouldn't worry because there is many more things happening with Colgan. Oh and they did cut the upgrade class in half in August but it was because they didn't have enough captains for the check airmen to take time away to go to the sim. There's been a lot of guys getting hired away the last couple of months. I know of at least two that went to Continental and one to SWA.

Colgan has posted five or so open interview dates on the company website. Hiring for August classes. And yes we're short captains (they're flying my a$$s off right now). Three to SWA this month, two to CAL, and two more somewhere.

They cancelled the interviews because the Colgans from Manassas could not get up to LGA. The afternoon before a huge line of thunderstorms passed through the northeast cancelling many flights (including many of mine) so all the US Air shuttles between DCA and LGA were way oversold with revenue standbys from the previous day. This is all it is. They should be rescheduling them.
