Goober was the guy that ran the gas station in Mayberry. The one that Gomer worked at before enlisting.

Sheesh, kids these days...

"basically a goober is just a kindhearted, rather oblivious goofball. it's term of endearment really. it comes from the ancient scottish verb "to goub", which has to do with doing a dance and smiling sheepishly while doing so, exposing the goubs in one's teeth."

"a crazy cool person whos funny as hell and rocks any shindig like no other; a totally cool person bascially (thats a little insane)"

"funny looking person, who amuses people, and is a total doofus. obliviously quirky and silly. has never dated anyone, and will probably never because of their naive innocence."

"slang in the medical community for small abcesses in the groin or rectal area."

"Someone who did something dumb, foolish, or careless"

A Goober is also a delicious chocolate covered peanut candy.

It's also a not-so-delicious slime covered nodule from your nasal cavity. It's similar in that it may have a crunchy center. They may or may not come in festive hues.

No... you're thinking about a booger... very different but some people eat them as well.

Is everyone playing dumb or am I just hearing things on ATC?

I guess the first rule of GOOBER is you don't talk about GOOBER.
