Just looking for info. I retire from the USMC is June, and I am looking for ANYTHING. I have 420 hrs, with 60 ME. I have my CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI, and Turboprop FE, and A&P.

Where can I go? I don't mind instructing at all, but what after that. I have over 6000hrs C-130 time, but I can't count any of that time.

Any info is appreciated.

Try Delta Connection Academy (formerly, Comair Aviation Academy). I used to work there. The pay sucks ($10/hr) but once you have 1000TT/100ME (800 Dual Given/50ME Dual given at least) you are guaranteed an interview. More than 90% of the applicants are hired after being interviewed. Comair Airlines is a great place to be. Plus, it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Airlines.

If you have any choice in the matter, stick with the SFB base. Your hours will accumulate quicker.

One thing I forgot to mention is that the "Dual Given" figures above MUST be the total in DELTA CONNECTION ACADEMY aircraft. No exceptions. I'd say getting 60 hours in a month is a little on the high side depending on what kind of students you have. Of course, if you're like me and you have NO life... those extra two days on the weekend can help rack some more hours up for ya.

Color me stupid, but why not?

Flight Safety Academy wont give you the time of day if you didn’t get your ratings through them, last I heard they had a waiting list of instructors that they have hired but are waiting for a standardization class(about 8 months)

Six months ago I retired from the USAF with 5,840 FE hours (Herk and AWACS) and Comm/Multi/Instrument through the Aero Club at Langley. I was looking to the instruction path because regardless of your job, even when you move on from school, you will always be instructing in some sort of capacity.
I checked out Flight Safety but I guess I was asking too many questions because they stopped answering my emails. Tab Express tap-danced around the "tough" questions like "What percentage of your students are getting hired?" Delta Connection Academy didn't candy coat anything. They gave me the whole picture, warts and all. They are the only ones with a consistant placement rate for their instructors (97%). They don't hire everyone...and the pay is a whopping $10/flt or ground hour. And when you finish giving 800 Dual, there's a guaranteed interview waiting for you with a regional.
So, I started there right after retirement and in 11 weeks I had both CFI/CFII. It was the best aviation education I've gotten in my 30 odd years around airplanes. My wait for Standz is four months but student hires finishing up now are being told they won't be back until April.
The downside for you is they won't recognize your current instructor tickets, you will have to do them again. Personally, I think that would be a waste of money.
If youre looking to relocate to central FL though, you might want to check out Regional Airline Academy at DED or Air Orlando at ORL. I hear they are always looking for instructors.
Good luck
