the one thing I've learned in my short time on this place, is almost all of your plans will fail. the more you plan out something, the more likely it is to go wrong in one way or the other. good luck

WAIT
I remember Rudy Giuliani speaking about the attack on the world trade center. He said, in NY, they had plans for everything. However, you can't really plan for everything. You can only plan for the things you know about. The more plans you have, the better you can handle the things you didn't plan for. So, the plan for an anthrax attack was used to move people to various hospitals. The plan for a subway attack was used to move people through the streets.
So, the more you plan, the better you will be able to handle the things that life, and work, throw at you.

An ideal short term plan would be get to CFI so you can teach while attending college. Sure would beat other jobs that college students typically do. After 4 years you could easily have a viable college degree (not aviation) and enough hours and experience to get on with a regional airline or have a strong leg up competing for a military pilot slot. Maybe some good connections for a corporate job if you teach at the right place. That's a good position for someone 22 to be in. Good luck.
