By proof...what do you want? The proof will be when ATs CEO wants to match rates with their biggest local competetor DAL. DAL is going to get a bunch of the 100BBJs (Bigger Barbie Jets) and put them on their domestic routes to fly directly against AT. They want to pay said pilots rates that are currently 43% less than AT rates.

Of course they are going to come to us with that, you buffoon. They already have. The difference is that we already have lower labor costs due to our already higher productivity . . . think of SWA. They already make much, much more per hour than you, yet their costs are lower than yours, in or out of bankruptcy.

We don't need to give up anything. As I said, we are looking for improvements, not going backwards.

but how does it feel, Mr. AT pilot guy, to know someone is going to "do if for less" (actually they are being forced to) in order to screw the industry and you along with it?

This is not new to the industry. Buy a book, and read up on it.

Jester757 that was a much more informative post, thank you. Now please educate me on the BBJ, not a slam I really want to know. What size and where is it going to be flown and at what rate? I have not seen any contract or statements to the effect and if you have those numbers I for one whould like to see what they are.

I feel confident that that we will not make gains like UAl and DAl in 00 and 01, but we will improve our contract and keep us competitive. None of us are into lowering the bar.

I laughed my A$$ off when someone played that ad for me. No airline in particular came to mind when I heard it. The whole "saving the nine bucks on a round trip to Ft. Myers" bit was right on the money (as far as passengers go).
