I was looking into Western's flight program and wondered how good their flight department is and if going to a aviation university would open more options after graduation?

I went there and graduated in '95. It was a decent program then, but since then they moved the aviation dep't over to BTL. They updated the fleet to fairly new aircraft. I also heard that they got rid of the requirement to do your first two years over in k'zoo before even beginning flight training. I was over there about 2 years ago and checked out the facilities, they seemed top notch, much better than the old digs at AZO.

left in april for a better job at least its salary anyway and things were changing rapidly for the better with the new dean and assistants.
They now start your flying at the Kalamazoo facility then after your private or after 1 full semester (I think that's how it's now working) you start flying at Battle Creek airport. Just recently heard they acquired a C-425 Conquest and a Sabreliner. So there is finally some sort of turbine opportunities. Fun school but fast becoming a lousy career. I'm seriously considering going back to school for a degree I and use to feed myself.
