Does anyone know of any FBO's or operators in Southeast Virginia (Newport News; Hampton; Virginia Beach; Chesapeake; Williamsburg; or not too far from there) that give those kind of warbird flights or combat type flights, where non-pilots can actually handle the controls and engage in mock dogfights? I want to give such a flight to someone who lives in that are for a present, but I am not from that location myself, so I need a "hand". Anyone have any leads, please either PM me or just post it. Thanks.

Haven't heard much about the air combat places since the T-34 shed a wing in ATL a few years back.

There is, I believe, a place in Winchester, VA (north of DC) that does warbird rides; T-6 and maybe P-51, but that's kinda far from the penninsula.

Flying Circus in Bealton, VA used to sell Stearman acro rides for $50, but again it's been a while since I have heard anything about them. Bealton is a bit of a hike as well; Rte 17 west of Fredericksburg.

That's all that comes to mind. Hope it helps

There are a couple of traveling circus out there. One is N. American top gun flying SNJ or T-6. They were pretty scary when they cam to our field. Matter of fact they thought they ouned the pattern. Taking off head to head with landing traffic because they didn't want the long taxi and cutting planes off on final when they came back. Be careful what you wish for.
