We are still a few pilots short of our goal before our first jet arrives in December. Part time positions only, must live within a reasonable commuting distance. If you are an experienced C-17 pilot currently flying in the active duty or reserves or have flown the C-17 in the last four years or so, PM me for more details.

The local tallent is on our payroll. Most free agents have signed the bonus. There are not many folks willing to accept a part-time job in this economy with an airline job possibly several years away. My hope is to reach folks we have lost touch with over the years (AETC, staff, etc) who are considering the joys of guard bumming.

Experienced C-17 pilots should have the opportunity to pick up some good $$ given the top of the pyramid effect. Historically we have a excellent placement rate in major airlines, however...

If you know of any C-17 folks willing to relocate to the Deep South, PM me.

Probably Jackson. Memphis is slated to get C-5's next year. Jackson is getting the C-17.

At least that is what information I have been able to scrape up.

Jackson for sure. AKA "Wings of the Deep South" I heard somewhere in the grapevine they were taking first shipment in December.

As the unit transitions to the C-17, they will have a large percentage of flights requiring an IP/EP -- for the few C-17 IP/EPs in the unit, the pickins' will be good. Something like this:

..................EP EP EP
...... ........IP IP IP IP IP
.......AC AC AC AC AC AC AC
....FP FP FP FP FP FP FP FP FP FP
CP CP CP CP CP CP CP CP CP CP CP

not neccessarily the "model" everywhere. I know in my squadron (HIANG) we try to make everyone an AC. There are only 2 copilots in the squadron. Its hard to get airline pilots to go to IP school so we are a little scoshe on those, but when we go to C17 (in Dec 05) i dont expect it to be much different. Its just much easier for everyone to be qualified in both seats in the guard (less cancellations) As far as full/part timers, were talking about 50/50
