My medical package came back with a weird stamp on it, I was initially very excited, but it had one little worry spot...

"Medically qualified for FCI, Pending successful completion of MFS"

Anyone know how to translate that?

FC1 = Flying Class 1 = Military Medical Qualification for Pilots and other special duty jobs.

MFS = Military Flight Screening = The medical screening that takes place at Brooks AFB in San Antonio for pilot hopefulls. If you passed your FC1, you'll *probably* pass MFS. They do some extra stuff like an echocardiogram, some eye tests, and a battery of psychological background information gathering-type tests.

Check out this thread: http://forums.flightinfo.com/showthread.php?t=23848 -- particularly my post. That's the basic stuff you'll need to know.

Best of luck!

.. who is this?

I was a AFROTC puke the whole time I was there. Didn't go through the aviation tech program at all...but I did get my PPL at Lafayette Aviation.

Since then, it's been Air Force flying only. I'm currently at Sheppard.
