Well, looks like this is the end!! Big meeting today with HR. Rumors (and not so rumors) are the whole flight dept. Will give more news tomorrow, if I am sober enough and not too hung over.
Jetz

Your CEO must not have contributed to the Hank Paulson slush fund. Our Socialist government is hand picking winners and losers, and if your company is not on the list, you're in trouble. I'm waiting myself to see how this all turns out. Hang in there.

My guess is it has something to do with an acquisition by Wells-Fargo and Masshole-in-Chief Barney Frank wanting any bank that took TARP money (regardless of if they asked for it or not) to divest themselves of their flight department or "any interest" (like a fractional) they own.

Yeah that's right Barney, selling widebody bizjets in today's market at a 25% loss will do farking WONDERS for their balance sheet...

Good luck to all...at one time Hawkaire was my dream job, and it's a department with a heckuva reputation. It'll be a sad day of it goes away.

********************e, I was in Challenger 300 recurrent with two of their pilots last September when I was looking down the barrel at AT&T!

Keep the faith guys, if I can get a great job in this market it is possible! Ok, I had to go half way around the globe but still....

Cheers- Rum

I missed a job with them 3 years ago. I was crushed. All the best guys.

Rum, are you still with Flex?

Not that it will necessarily help, but I'd be making some inquiries at Wells Fargo just in case...

No, Wells said that it was a business decision with the market and political environment. We are done, no more. They are selling 3 Challengers and their Gulfstream iv. They are keeping our G550 and 2 Challengers and Kaiser Air in OAK is going to operate them. We can try to apply to Kaiser, but the move and expenses will be your own. Plus, I dont know what the pay is, but it would have to be alot to live in or near OAK.

I've known Butch over there since the late 80s (tho I haven't seen or spoken to him in a while) and at least one pilot. My thoughts are with you guys and your families. Hopefully we'll all be out of this soon enough...

With the "Trifecta of Reed, Pelosi and Franks" I wouldn't hold my breathe.

Just sent my TARP recipent aviation department divestment objection to my congressmen today.

This sh!t has to stop.

I'm wondering if all this has to do with the GMC/Ford/Chrysler fiasco up in DC??? did those CEOs screwed it up for companies with a flt. dept.???

Maybe because of that episode, its not "politically correct" for executives to fly in biz jets

what do you guys think??

best of luck

Just Curious.....

I'm just curious.... what type of severance package do you get? How many months do they give you pay and benefits?

Where did you get the Phantom icon? I was in the F4D in the 555TFS at Udorn back in 68-69. Let me know what site I could download the Ghost! PM me.

Thanks. David

If I am not shot down by other aviation geeks I believe that is the F105 Thunder Chief affectionately known as “The Thud”. Named after the sound it made when it hit the ground… A close air support attack plane that had one of the highest loss rates of any airframe in country.

I had a flight instructor who flew the thud in Nam for two tours. I still remember his wall display in his office showing his medals including a distinguished flying cross. For a wet behind the ears farm kid in love with aviation he was like a rock star.

IMO, corp. jets are apart of doing business.

If the 3 Amigos want them gone then they should have to fly airlines too. But Reid, Franks and Pelosi are to good for the airlines.

Congress couldn't manage the TARP much less a business.
