This is a repeat of a question I have already posed, but here goes. I have heard a rumor through some squadron buds, and also the AFPC website somewhat implies this, that if you volunteer for a remote flying assignment, they will give you a choice of location upon your return to your MWS. Any reattacks on this? If not, heard of anyone that worked it successfully?

I have heard the same thing and would be curious if anyone has seen it through to success. It makes me kind of nervous because the AF can always say "sorry" and screw you if their needs change.

We just had two from the active duty squadron I used to be in go voluntary remote to Osan flying the C-12. One year gigs and they are both back at McChord. Worked great for them. My boss from the CAOC in OTBH was there on a one year remote and that landed him back at his base of desire. It does work but I imagine there might be a few cases where it does not work..."the needs of the AF....."
