I guess old age has finally crept up on me. During a medical exam yesterday, I was unable to read much below the Big E at the top of the eye chart with one of my eyes.

In my youth I had 20/14 vision. The doc said it was around 20/30 in that eye. I am not sure if fatigue, hunger, dehydration had anything to do with it or the fact the test took place in an unlit hallway.

I guess I need to visit an opthomologist. Any other suggestions for dealing with aging eyes?

Yea, I am with you on this one I almost failed my eye exam and noticed I had to squint a bit more this year but I went to my medical on 3 hours sleep And amped up on energy drinks.

Look guys..it`s not rocket science...go get an eye exam, get some glasses and enjoy being able to see once again....so it`s on your ticket...big deal...

Don't you remember Space Cowboys? Even the guy with coke bottle glasses had '20/20 vision'

The hard part was I had better than perfect vision in the past. I assumed I still had it. I did not realize it had gotten worse. Its now down to 20/30 in one eye.

I went to the optometrist today, and it was easy. I now have contacts in and 20/20 vision. The hard part is I am having trouble taking them out. I am not too comfortable poking my fingers into my eyes just yet.

My friend purchased some glasses to correct his vision and swears by the results, they just appear to be black plastic lenses with many holes about 3/16 each, your eyes are forced to focus through the small holes, he went from a +3.0 readers to +1.5's. I personally went through the same problems as Refuge, did the near vision readers from the grocery store, then distance vision started to deteriorate, went to bifocals, changed to Focus Daily contacts, they were good for the average person but if you are very active it's still a pain, waking up in the middle of the night to a sms message, then trying to find glasses, ugh! Finally did Lasik, the world is normal again.
