Here is some scope what I found out.
1. The development and revenue research team is in New Jersy.
The Ceo is Frances Farrow.
There is some info on google
2. Already interviewing TRI's and TRE's
3. Still undecided about 737 or 320.
So do not get your type rating yet.
Heared for the 737 only 737 NG typed crews and for Airbus 320 type rated crews and this is a broad type rating. 15K auch
4. Key Mgmt personal training in Australia at Virgin Blue.
5. Initial Hiring will be only typed crews.
Scale they are talking 55 for typed FO's 75 for Captain.
If they cannot fill with typed crews, 30's for untyped FO's.
They talking also about a sponsor scheme, similar to SW to get your type. (But The 737 NG type is 15000 and 6 weeks and the 320 type is 18000 and 2 months. At the factory )
Hope that helps.

Hmm... pay for your own type so the company doesn't have to. Yeah that sounds like Ornstein is involved.

30 aircraft to man requires 240 to 280 pilots.
with 3 sims it would take already typed pilots about 14 weeks to be on line, untyped guys it will take over 6 to 8 months to bring on line. ( a new startup does not have that time luxury)
training cost would be to high.
They are looking for already typed pilots.
The 737 is a easy airplane to fly, gut hard to learn.
I have seen 10000+h capt wash out.
The reasion is how boeing thinks.
It takes a turboprop guy with 3000+ time about
10 FBPT 2 hour sessions and 8 full flight sim sessions and a checkride+ 2 4 h loft sessions and 30 to 40 IOE hours to be at standards.
An alredy typed guy 5 FBPT and 5 FF Sim sessions 1 loft and 25 IOE.
I am talking full training not just to pass the check ride
I know this because I work in a 737 training department.

These are 50 seat RJ rates! I hope they have trouble finding crews. Doubt it though. -Bean

In australia they had 1800 initial applicants for 300 positions.
Mgmt thinks they can find a jet drivers for those rates in the US.
Everybody will have an individual contract. Because of different hiring dates there will be different contract experations it will be hard to get a ta.
The woman in charge Frances Farrow was Bransons chief legal councel.
Put more lawers in charge.

I hope the us airline industry is not heading towards the current state of affairs in us maritime industry, basically there is none. Foriegn ownership, foriegn crews, foreign wages. No US company can compete with a ship registered in the US and US crew, why cause everyone esle gets some poor dude makin.30 cents a day in Somalia and tell him he's gonna make $3 dollars a day if they work for them on their foriegn regist ship. Can you say Pinnacle! That is exactly what this VA is going to do the US airline industry they'll get the same F. u Ck ing whores that go to mesa and pinnacle and pay for their training to crew thier planes, why cause in Papa New Guenie 17hr to fly a jet would get you half the country.

If some airline managements could get pygmies to fly for $10 a month, they would.

They would rather keep huge legal departments to fend off the post-crash lawsuits...sorry, I guess they already do:p .

The problem with Virgin vs. pilots trying to keep a reasonable salary is that so many of us are or will be out of work and are itching to get in on the ground floor of another JetBlue or Virgin Blue.

BTW, VB pilots are well compensated in Australia.
The people on pprune.org are posting rates of $130k(Australian) for Capt. If anyone has the currency converted pay rates, please post them.TC

$130K AUS = Crap

Just returned from a nice little trip down under. It is very cheap for American's down under as a $130K AUS = $83,200 US. The current exchange rate is $1 AUS = $0.64

I live in So Cal now, and $84K as a top career pay just ain't going to cut it when the average house is now topping $380K.

Maybe I can talk about potential second jobs to help make ends meet. As we all know, if a few are bragging about a $130K AUS income then the average is far below that figure.

Maybe I should just pack it in and run for California governor against the "Governator".

Cheers!
