Just wondering if anyone out there is going to Vance for class date 04-03 starting 3 Dec? Also wondering what it is like at Vance. I've heard some good and some bad. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean class 03-04? It's a bit early for 04-03. Vance bites, no two ways about it. However, when you look at the alternatives, I think it wins out at this point. Kinda depends on what your interests are. If you like fat, ugly women without all their teeth who smell like ashtrays, you are a lucky dude. If you have a vagina, you will be more popular than you have ever imagined. Do a search for UPT bases on this site. There was a lot of input on the board a few months back. Good luck out there.

P.S. TRIM, TRIM, TRIM!!!

Vance

I went to Vance for UPT back in '99 and I can tell you that while I would never want to settle down there, it was probably the best place out of all the UPT bases. Bottom line is they're all in crappy little places with lots of free open airspace around them. Oklahoma City is only an hour away and we always had a good time there. Vance isn't great, but it could be worse.

What board did you go to for that classdate? Just wondering what kind of wait I'm looking at for the sept 24th board.

I met with the Sept board last year. Right now I'm an ADD Lt. at my detachment...meaning I can only stay here for up to 6 months. Therefore I got a pretty early slot. If you go to an AD base, then your wait is at least 6 months or more. Good luck with the board!!
