Looking for some suggestions on where to spend a week in May. Looking for places you guys or gals might have gone that were really cool. Prefer outside the US.

Cancun and Cabo has my vote. It really depends on where you want to spend your vacation and what you intend to do but I have always had a wonderful time in Mexico. Rosarito Beach is also a very kool place to frequent and it is not very far from San Diego and it is rather "inexpensive" compared to Cabo and Cancun. Lotsa SDSU/UCSD "hotties" seem to migrate to Rosarito as well which is always nice for the eyes. The best thing in my opinion is the cheap rates on the hotels that can be had and they have some really first class hotels and condos there. I also enjoy Mexico City every once in awhile, the bull fighting is a neat experience.:D

just got back today from two weeks in argentina. I didn't want to leave Buenos Aires I almost contemplated looking for a job there even though the economy sucks there. the dollar buys 3 pesos but the prices are the same as here. everything is very inexpensive. I took 15 people to lunch at an EXPENSIVE restaurant for $110US two days ago. The girls there are second to none!! At least 3 9's and 10's in every block, no joke. You won't be let down.

The girls there are second to the ones in the Czech Republic.... Take a look at all of the models and the porn stars whose last name ends in "ova". Prague is incredible, next door in Budapest is sweet too. All relatively dirt cheap. Hop any flight into Germany and take the train into Central and Eastern Europe.

Why not come to Colorado? The mountains are still cool and a few ski restorts will still be open...

Cause I go there on occasion flying the boss in for a few days and get to ski at the company's expense. Same with the other resort and nicer destinations this country has to offer. I'd rather go somewhere international I don't currently have the opportunity to go to for work.

Czech Republic is awesome!

Europe has great public transportation so if you don't mind spending a lot of time on trains, you can see a lot of sites. Czech Rep. has a lot of castles that have been maintained in excelent condition.

If you're a beer drinker there's plenty of that, and it's cheap too! The cheapest is less expensive than bottled water.

Meals are often low cost as well. You can usually eat a nice dinner for $4-$5 per person, however many of the places in Prague jack up thier prices.

Cabo...if you are going with a sweetie and want a romantic stay, try the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach or the Los Cabos (Blanco) properties...$95 per night for pilots. Sunset Beach is just north of Los Arcos, on a quiet stretch of beach and away from town. Los Cabos (Blanco) is on Medano Beach and walking distance to town. Sunset Beach is a romantic getaway.

Grand Cayman...Hyatt Grand Regency has rooms on Seven Mile Beach for pilots at a rate around $135 per night...they usually go for upwards of $250 per night.

I'd list more but that should get you started.

I have to disagree with the above ASSesment of the girls in Argentina
granted I was there during the beginning of the last economic downturn (2002), when the country went through 3 presidents in two weeks and people were kind of edgy...I had higher expectations of them going in. Maybe it's just my taste in women, but they were all tiny, dark and similar in proportions to bowling pins
restaurants are cheap though, I ll give you that and the party scene is very teenage driven
But if you're in Buenos Aires, catch a ferry to Montevideo(Urugway), and then it's only couple of hours by bus to Punta Del Este (kind of like Atlantic City of Urugway)
hotels are cheap, surf is awesome and it's a very chilled environment

If you’re looking for some real out of the way “beach” resorts try the Seychelles, Maldives or Bora Bora in French Polynesia. You certainly wouldn’t want to go to these places alone; as these are real romantic type places. Beware though these places are very pricey.

May is usually the start of their "high" season since they are all south of the equator and May marks the usual start of the "dry" season.

hmmm...for more out of the way, try Rangiroa (if you like scuba diving) in French Polynesia. It is pricey but good deals can be had through Discover Wholesale travel in Irvine. Besides, if you are going to spend the money to go to Bora Bora you might as well go to Rangiroa too. Rangi is an hour's flight outside of Papeete Tahiti on an ATR. The island is basically a series of atolls shaped in a circular fashion (like a volcano) with a huge shallow lagoon in the center. Unbelievably beautiful. It's very isolated but still has enough modern conveniences to be comfortable and luxurious.

Again, more of a place to go to with a special someone. As the only activity is scuba diving, most resort to private entertainment.

Bareboat sailing

I've had great fun chartering sailboats. I have chartered with Moorings and been very satisfied, but I am sure there are other outfits. Go where you want, when you want. You can get a crew (Captain and/or cook) if you want. Lots of different sailboat bases to choose from (even in Tahiti!!). Not the cheapest vacation, but everyone has their vice and you can't take it with you!!!

Our most pleasant vacations were in 2 places. Ixtapa (probably spelled it wrong), in MX, it's a resort city, next door to Zawantero (sp), featured in Shawshank Redemption. Beaches are nice, people are friendly, we stayed at an all inclusive, Azul Margarita, por favor, at 10:00 AM. Great food. Incredibly cheap. I think it was 1400 PP including air cattle car from Chicago.

We also had a great time in Nice, France. The beach is not sand, but the ladies are beautiful. We stayed at

nice

It's a short ride into town, it's out of the way, Monaco is a short ride, dinner at the Hotel Paris. Fabulous places.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Some of these sound like their right up my alley. Thanks again.
