Who do you think will there USair EX contract cut?(if any) MESA/CHQ/TSA/or the others? If someone was to interview at one, which one should they stay away from for this reason? thanks. Dont want to start flame, just a educated guess.

MESA will undercut the rest with their 23% requested paycuts as we all expect. I would say that they are safe.

I would also nominate Mesa as a safe choice due to the reason that they are doing and saying the right things. Maybe its not the right thing, but they are kissing the right assssses. Having the pilots take a 23% paycut to support big brother during these times is a difficult choice. If USAir makes it, would Mesa get more contracts due to their support? I would say "yes."

Fred Buttrell says that Delta has first right of refusal for the 33 airplanes CHQ has in US Airways paint. That is part of the Delta/Republic stock-option program.

I have little doubt that Mesa and Trans-States have Delta on speed-dial as well and will offer a deal that Delta cant refuse to place the RJs at Delta Connection.

I did not post my first response as a positive thing. I just think MESA pilots would allow JO to take them to $10/hour and a majority of the pilots would still go for it! I am being serious! JO is not trying to support anyone but his own a$$. This type of "SUPPORT" is nothing to be proud of.

Here is the link about the requested paycut.

Do the right thing Vote no on any concession..
My 2 cents

But you all must do what you feel is right.
Is no one reading the press release? There will be no vote and there will be no pay cuts for the unionized employees at Mesa! (pilots and FA's) IS THE CLEAR! MESA PILOTS ARE NOT TAKING A PAY CUT! IS THIS LOUD ENOUGH! -Bean

And more reading comprehension...

EVERYONE...just do as Bean says and go reread the press release. JO is asking for ANY Mesa employees to VOLUNTARILY take a pay cut. There are NO, NONE, ZERO concession talks taking place between Mesa management and our MEC. JO has directed "upper management" to take a 23% pay (read: salary) cut. He is also ASKING for others in the Company to do the same. THis is not the first time we have seen this here at Mesa.

It is simply staggering how fast B.S. can propagate itself on these boards.

And please explain again how this won't affect the pilot group at Mesa. You seem to have negated your thesis statement in your previous post. Please clear up this matter.

The devil is in the details

/guilty of not reading the press release the first time around
//never thought Mesa pilots would take ANY size paycut

We will gladly fly the CRJs and ERJs to Goodyear, Mojave, and Kingman before we take a 23% paycut.

Just curious?

If JO forces some and others volunteer (that I got to see) for the pay cut, is JO transferring the cuts to the mainline carrier or is he going to pocket the savings. Will US air realize those savings? Thanks.

Hide the Dallas Morning News from JO. Story in the Dallas News...

Grocer trimming costs in D-FW stores after market share slides Albertsons Inc. said Friday that it has converted a majority of its 10,000 Dallas-Fort Worth store employees to part-time status as it cuts costs in a market where it had been No. 1 until 2003.
