"His vision, Ornstein says, is to make Mesa the lowest-cost provider of outsourced regional aircraft flying to the nation's big network airlines and the biggest provider of such outsourced services. But that means Mesa must be ruthless about cutting costs, he says: "Costs are everything in the airline business and especially in the regional airline business." "

Gotta give credit to those who voted for that sh$ty contract. Not only did they give their CEO ammo to use aginst ALPA and other cariers they supplied the lowest cost pilots for his Lorenzo like business plan.

Congrats, while the "S" word is not yet appropriate, I think its only a matter of time.

Sounds like JO is lvivng a life of inferiority due to a college fraternity rejection. This guy will never be happy as long as he is trying to prove something to somebody.

Hopefully he will take one of his 15 motorcycles and ride off a cliff.

For awhile now I've had this feeling that JO may wind up buying ALG and PDT after we've been shaved down to our core. Nothing to support it, just a feeling and a guess. Guess we'll see.

I'd like to see mesa's numbers...
I bet Corpex really kicks his butt
in ontime and completions...course
we got no union (alpa said we were
to small to bother with, how's that
for support!Teamsters did too!!!)
I wonder, maybe he will come buy
us! Then we could get Jets...nahhh
probably take away our jetstreams
and put us in those beetchcrafts!

Ha...HAHAHA! Pretty friggin sad
when getting bought by JO would
be a move Up!!! If I got date of
hire I could be an instant RJ CA...

Er, well, jets are for kids...

Belch!

I had a few jewish fraternity brothers, but I wouldn't let that fag in my frat house either. I can't for the life of me think how this pindick ever got into a quality school like Penn.

This guy really cracks me up, I gotta give him that. I thought that article would piss me off, but I spent most of the time laughing at just how pathetic this guys is. I wish I could have a cigar and beer with Uncle Gordon, so that I could hear his profanity filled opinons of the little brat Orenstein. Me thinks Johnny was really blackballed from the frat for trying to make out with the chapter president's girlfriend after she passed out at a party. Sounds more like his character. Man you Mesa guys are up for one h*ll of a ride in the years ahead. Better be ready to burn the place down cause that's what it's gonna take.

That article made me almost puke. Who the F does he think he is. First off he was at Continental Express. Not CAL. And he left that place because Gordo booted his a$$ when he realized all the employees wanted his head. Express was not a kind place when J. Lorezstein was there. (From what i heard, don't want him sueing me too)

And I find it funny that he reads this and other boards. There are direct quotes in the article from here.

Hey, JO, your a small man. And know this, above all else you are not respected.

I'd rather die broke happy and loved, than rich, hated and miserablebly trying to prove myself.

Which one are you JO?

My favorite quote - When asked about union leaders being put off by his intense focus on costs: "Tough. The unions don't work for me. They don't even work for my pilots. They have their own agenda."

He talks that way about the Union because he was able to walk all over them with out a fight. Mesa pilots were played like a fiddle.
No wonder he has no fear of them. Every Mesa pilot who allowed this to happen should be black balled. Aint gonna happen, but it would be what they deserve.

In defense of the Mesa guys, JO is not an easy person to deal with. I think they got it right when they said people call him a Neo-lorenzo.

Did they get spanked, yes! But its not like they layed down for anyone. I'd hate to be at ACA right now, I'd be sh*ttin myself! One things for sure, someone needs to stand up to that bully and maybe next time the Mesa guys and possibly the ACA guys will have had enough. 15 motorcycles and God knows how many cars and other toys but the pilots at his company don't even make enough to support a wife, two kids and a house! It's inexcusable~!

**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** straight,
Somebody oughtta tell airline management that the old "you're gonna lose your jobs if you don't take the pay cuts" isn't gonna keep working forever. Eventually it's gonna be like the boy who cried wolf; and when the airline is really going under not one employee is gonna lift a finger to help. I wonder if USAtoday would publish a similar article explaining why mesa FO's are eligible for foodstamps.... so i've heard.

I think I can vouch for the 1600+ pilots (furloughees included) of our group when I say that I'D RATHER BE HERE AT ACA NOW, THEN AT MESA EVER!!!!
