Came across this in the news this morning:
States that US Airways is thinking about adding 60 A320 Airbus to fleet
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04016/261972.stm
a few days ago, it was announced that 4 senior managers all resigned, one going to MCI (who is itself laying off 1700 people)
http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2004-01-16-us-air_x.htm
prior to that news article, CEO David Siegel claimed that they had to sell assets for survival
http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/040109/airlines_usairways_1.html
Can someone tell me what Siegel and the upper management team are doing? First, we sell assets. Then 4 managers resign. Then we decide to merge two commuter operations. Now, he tells the pilots union that they may pick up 60 shiny new Airbus's? What the F** over?
