hate to be a repeat offender here but your mesquite tooth needs to give up the urge. All the Barbeque down here sucks. And I know my BBQ, born in Houston and raised on Ottos and Goode Company and did two tours at Stubbs BBQ during college in Austin. Don't recomend Charlies either. Go get a Primanti Brothers Sandwich on the beach. A1A and Sunrise, go south on A1A a half block and look right.

Go to Champs sports bar i think it is on Commercial blvd. A little expensive, but the portions are big and they might have a little bbq.

Take your crew car, drive to FLL and find the control tower. When you find the tower, or Lee Wegener Blvd the road that leads to the tower and to the mid field FBO's take Wegener west for one block (across a canal) turn left at the light, and almost immediately turn right into the parking lot of the Rustic Inn. South Floridas original crab shack. It ain't cheap, but it's the best eatin in Broward County. Back in the day, when I was a blue blazer, red tie, corporate guy and could eat on the bosses card, I couldn't wait for any trip to the Lauderdale general area. Now that I'm based here and eating on my airline perdiem, I can't afford the Rustic Inn. Life sure is funny sometimes.

Yea I was at Banyan. Wish I could have gone to Michelbob's instead, but i was there last week so I guess I can not complain too much. Nothing like a full slap, slaw and sweet tea to make that next flight go by that much quicker. Anyhow, after some exploring and getting lost, we found quarterdecks down by the intercoastal and I had quite the blackened Mahi sandwich. Delicioso I might say. Thanks for all the tips fellers. Fraccapt, I hope you dont have to, but if you ever go to Jackson, TN hit me up. I know of a whole in the wall (if it is still there) that will knock your socks off!

People, people, you are all forgetting the world famous RUSTIC INN crab restaurant, it is about one mile to the east of the FLL airport off the highway going South (towards Miami), 1st exit to your right. Can't get better crab legs than that anywhere. The world famous part is not just a joke. It was actaully listed in several world best resaurant magazines. I am speaking from experience go try it out and you will become a regular when you head that way again. HMMMM!

I have no idea how it stacks up against other less touristy places, but when I'm passing through Jackson with an empty stomach, I usually stop at Casey Jones. Excellent buffet.

Can't beat Chima!

Arghhhh...wish I had chimed in earlier, but yes there is a really great BBQ joint between FLL and FXE, just not american BBQ. Try a place called Chima on Las Olas blvd then come back and tell us about it.

It ain't cheap, $20 a pop, but ALL the meat you can ask for on skewers, prepared any way YOU ask for with a HUGE all-you-can-eat salad and appetizer bar, plus the place is really classy. First time i tried it was life-altering. Brazilian BBQ is where it's at, and I'm sure a few of you will agree.
