I have the contacts at both companies that is why this is a difficult decision. I obviously don't have the TT right now but within the next year I will have to decide which path to choose. ie. stay where I am and upgrade to Captain and get my 1000 ME PIC turbine while sacfricing instrument time or go back east and get the instrument required by NJA.

I may be completely clueless here (almost always proven to be the case), but what is "cabotage"? I haven't heard that one before.

Cabotage, is when you come home from a lengthy trip unexpectedly and find a big fat English accent speaking, pipe smoking, smoking jacket wearing, Sebastian Cabot looking dude in your lazy boy, wearing your slippers and drinking tea out of your favorite coffee mug and reading your Wall Street Journal.

You will make more money at UPS to be sure - but the QOL at NJA is far superior. And you certainly wont be poor at NJA. I doubt you can go wrong with either choice. I much would depend on where you want to live and what type of flying you wish to undertake. I fly for NJA and I can't see myself leaving for UPS/Fedex but then who knows what the future holds for us all.

Its very much a matter of what kind of flying you want to do. UPS and NJA are two very different worlds. Personally I have done the cargo thing (albeit not at UPS) and the NJA thing and I am very happy here at NJA. I enjoy this type of flying and this equipment far more than the long haul in the heavies. All depends on what you like to do.
