Just checked my messages at home from vacation and low and behold a call from Louisville Air Ops was waiting on me!! I'm going to call first thing tomorrow to hopefully hear they want me to come down for an interview. If that's indeed what happens, anybody else out there have an interview in January and when is it scheduled? Just curious when dates were being set up, it will give me something to think about while I'm counting the hours. Happy Holidays and thanks for all replies.

Thanks a lot. Assuming, and I know what that does, this is an invite for an interview, I'll post the date some time tomorrow. If it's not an invite, I'll be hitting the eggnog.

Well, no need to hit the eggnog, talked to Bill Norris this afternoon and scheduled a 5th of January interview. Will post how it goes, hopefully well!

Freighterguy:

All rec's are done online via the UPS jobs website. The Cheif Pilot posted instructions back when hiring began. For a non-flyer manager to write a rec I would think it would be done the same way but I could be wrong.

After calling flight ops a couple months ago, I can tell you that I was told all rec's had to go thru www.airupser.com. I used to work at UPS loading boxes and wanted my manager and a couple of drivers to write a rec. for me (since I only had 1 pilot rec.) But they tried to go on the site and register. And they got a message saying that they were'nt in the right region or something. I pretty much gave up after that. Let me know if you know any other way for a manager to submit that isnt based in SDF.

Congrats AFPA, Can you tell me how many letters of Rec you had and if any were from managers? Or were you able have someone walk in your resume?

afpa, congratulations. I'd like to be in your shoes, at least in future brown ones. I'm interested to hear about your LORs also.

Cheers,

As far as my letters of rec go, I had 3 pilot letters and one management letter from Atlanta. I've heard that letters from both pilots and non pilot types is the key. Wish I could tell you exactly what the silver bullet is, looking in the mirror I can be pretty sure it's not my good looks.
