Any UPS pilots out there:

Some rumors floating around that you guys have entered contract negotiations with the company early at the companies request. Any truth to that? Also, heard that the company threw out some numbers for max pay. Just curious, especially since our contract is coming due in a little over a year and a half.

Negotiations start Oct. 15 by mutual request of both parties. This is more than a year before the amendable date. Haven't heard any max pay figures yet, but the union has stated publically that one of the goals in this new contract is for the UPS pilot group to be the highest paid in the industry. With the strong financial performance of UPS, there is no reason this cannot be attained.

<<one of the goals in this new contract is for the UPS pilot group to be the highest paid in the industry.>>

We too, through the Union, have heard the same thing. I hope that UPS managment is starting early in good faith, so they can quickly get the deal done and get back to business with all contracts settled for the next 5 years.

In a perfect world UPS would finish before Airborne and there would be even more upward pressure on the ABX contract. Granted Airborne pilots will never have a FDX/UPS contract in the same time frame, but there is a direct correlation if we stay 1-2 contracts behind.

80% of UPS money ain't UPS money, but it ain't bad either. Now go get your $22,000/month....and we'll try to get our 80%.
