I noticed on the invite to a UPS interview, that they don't allow camera phones in the building. Does UPS have a policy that employees cannot have camera phones at company facilities?

Does it really matter if they do or don't?

Hoping to come out of the pool soon. Also need to get a new cell phone. Didn't want to spend money on something that would be prohibited from company facilities.

Any input on what to do (e.g. buy an extra suit to wear to class) or not to do between drug testing and class would be appreciated.

not picking on you, but would you really not get a cell phone for the other 90% of your life just because UPS said you couldn't have one on their property? If you need a new phone, go get one.

How would we know whether to tell you to buy an extra suit to wear to class without knowing just how many you had already <G>? From what I rememeber and see in the training center, one is plenty. After the first day or so it is shirt and tie. Friday is business casual. Monday too if the UPS dude wins at nascar that week.

If it were me and I was yanked out of the pool, between drug testing and class, I'd probably be hitting the bottlles of bubbly pretty hard <G>

Good luck in your treading, hope you get to the shallow end soon. Looks like it is going to be a big year

Just leave your phone in your pocket and turn it off for the interview. simple as that.
Besides, people shouldn't be yapping on cell phones in a professional office type settings such as ground school, etc anyway.

Better yet, leave it in the car.

even better, just run over it with your car. werent times much simpler back when nobody carried cellphones. now everybody thinks they have to be contactable 100% of the time.
