Is anyone else having difficulties applying with the new UPS application? I went to www.upsjobs.com, selected Professional Opportunities on the left, then Air Operations. Are these the correct steps? Everytime I check, which is 3-5 times a day I never find anything about a flight officer position or SO position. Help?

I am having the same problem. I have checked everyday for the last week and a half with no luck. I talked to the people at the air inc job fair and they acted surprised and said that they had heard of some guys having problems, but did not know or think it was a big issue. I have also heard that it is like a lottery and goes up and down and you just have to catch it. I have even heard it takes a certain number and then goes away until it needs more. ahhhh very frustrating. any answers would be great.....help.....anyone.....cricket cricket.....

They only hide the application from those who spent the $295 for the FE written and wasted a day going to the job fair.

Wrgcareer,

Thank you for your very helpful insight. I can now stop worry about having to fill out the application. At first I was a little concerned about spending the 10.00 for lifetime membership to this message board, being a cheap pilot, I was concerned I might die the next day and not get my money's worth. But with responses like yours to questions about my career...well, the web sight has paid for itself.

Come on Cowchipper,

Don't you see the humor in any of this. The hoops just keep on coming. BTW, I can't get an app in either. I think we would all like to work for the two or three companies out there that can just about guarantee job security and great pay.

Good luck to you, and I hope you eventually get the interview.

I was able to find a job listing for first officer using the above steps on Jan 25. When I checked subsequently the listing had gone away. After I chose the FO listing the next screen was one just like at the end of last year, with the radio buttons (Y/N) to answer questions set up to find out if you met the mins. The application that followed was very similar to last years, with the exception being the flight crew supplement, which was a little more painful to complete. It requested hours by aircraft separated into several categories such as PIC and student time.

Also, when I log in to update my app, there are two active links available, one to the 2006 SO app, and one for the 2007 FO app.

I hope this answers questions for those that may be a 1/10 of a step behind me in the process. My advice? Continue to check the website frequently and hope that you can find your way through the door to the application.

Is it me or does this whole process seem like you are Rodney trying to go visit Big Weld in 'Robots'? Too many times watching kid flicks with the munchkins...

Good Luck
