Any of you guys currently flying aircraft with brown tails care to let me know if your aircraft are equipped with ADS-B. I thought I had read somewhere that they were.

A majority of our fleet is now equipped, and I was actually just wondering if your aircraft were....I'm curious as if I'd see you on the display and you'd se my aircraft on your display. There is now one ADS-B ground transmitting station in PRC, AZ. Soon there will be more.

I'd like to see if the two would communicate together (as they should).

Thanks for the info!

All of our 757/767s are ADS-B equipped. Since UPS sold UPSAT it seems that ADS-B has been put on the back burner here as far as retrofitting the other fleets. I really like the enhanced SA it gives you, as you can see other ADS-B targets on the CDTI upwards of 200nm away.

My favorite feature is the closure rate information and the selectable time vector that you can lock on to a specific ADS-B target when following it during the approach and landing phase.

It actually seems to be really useful information. In our environment it seems to work well if you leave it set in a relatively low range, say 10 miles, and then you notice when someone is within that distance of you, and you can look outside and find them.

I'll keep an eye out for some UPS 757's if I'm working the night shift or early mornings!

Our equipment has up to a +/- 10,000ft filter, so if you are not in that altitude window we will not see you on ADS-B.
