I got a class date at Pinnacle in Jan. and a interview with CHQ next month anybody knows the upgrade time for Chautaqua?

1500 Total Time
300 MEL
100 Instrument to get in...

2500 TT and about 6 months sitting in the right seat to make Captain. And of course there has to be available Captain slots (which there probably won't be a shortage of in the near future).

Good luck with the interviews.

With absolute certainty, as someone who has been on the edge of upgrade for quite a while, the time is exactly somewhere between 6 months and 2 years. Hope this helps.

Thanks . I know upgrade in Pinnacle is 18 mo most likely 2yrs,,,

Any opinions in Pinnacle or CHQ?

I don't work for either, but CHQ just signed a new contract and you'll make more money there than at Pinnacle. You might also be interested in checking out whether you are paid during training. I have heard you are not paid at Pinnacle until you pass your checkride.

you are right no pay for 2 month at pinnacle i got a class for the 12 of jan. so let see what happen at the interview with chq

Pinnacle upgrade is more like 2.5 years regardless of what HR told you but there is no telling where upgrades will be 2+ years from now. The same is true at every company. Pay at Pinnacle is about 1-2% less (in the 50-seater) than CHQ in the captains seat after two years. Pinnacle does not have a sub-50 seat rate so when you get the jet captains seat your not stiffed with the 12% pay hit until you can hold 50-seat status. There is no pay in training.

CHQ pays per diem while in training (I think it's $125/week) and pays for all hotel costs. You can jumpseat as soon as you get your ID. Good luck.

Unless you commute, look at the crew bases. Would you like to live in Orlando? Then pick Chautaqua. Do you want to live in MSP, DTW, or MEM? Then pick Pinnacle. I know Chautaqua has other bases, but MCO seems like the best to me---especially if you like Mosquitos as big as choppers. Hey, they fly to Nassau and Key West on one day, and then El Paso or OKC thru DFW on the next. And those Emb-135s look slick.

Bye Bye--General Lee:rolleyes:

Yeah Mco look good to me i live in Fll and fly to the Bahamas and Guantanamo right nowfirst year pay its not that different 20.53 pinnacle and 21.00 chq

If you come to Pinnacle don't expect the left seat before 2.5-3 years.... And be prepared to be based in Minneapolis or Detroit.

Hey T-Gates, i rode on you guys a few weeks ago, and the 2nd year FO was pretty close to holding a bid for Ca, so that looks like it could hold up to your predictions. But he was also adding that there are a few CA's that are getting their 1000 pic and going to America West. But his thoughts were, with the RJ orders coming onboard in the next few years, it could speed up the wait a bit. Just adding some input.

I'm 13 months in to Chautauqua and almost exactly 100 numbers away from upgrade (assuming everybody takes any base, has the time, etc.). A lot depends on expansion with new business; There's about 200+ pilots underneath me right now, so I think 18 months would be an absolute minimum at Chautauqua; I'm planning for the two year mark to be reasonable if everything goes right. Essentially the size of the company has to double in order for you to upgrade, and the larger a company gets the more it takes to double in size; I don't know much about what Pinnacle has been up to, but I think it's becoming less and less likely that Chautauqua will indefinately continue to double in size.

That said, I really like it here. The people I work with (by and large, anyhow) are fantastic, I like CMH, and our new contract (no matter what anybody says) is a big improvement over what we previously had. I'm really fortunate to be here. Either way, good luck!

STRIKEFINDER I APPRECIATED... PINNACLE WILL DOUBLE IT SIZE BY 2005 WITH 129 AC RIGHT NOW HAS ABOUT 70 SO I WAS TOLD BY A FRIEND FLYING THE LINE AND HR 700 PILOTS AND OUTLOOK OF 1350 BY THE TIME THE NEW CONTRACT ROLLS IN I HAVE A FRIEND BASE IN MCO SHE LOVES IT THERE ALSO HAVE A FRIEN WITH PINNACLE AT DTW EASY TO COMUTE SPECIALY FROM ORLANDO

CHQ has a 10,000 dollar training contract! Signed for 2 years

The contract's only if you have less than 2500 total. And where would one go before 2 years were up anyway?
