Hi Everyone,
I found this article and thought I would post it. This is an area that I speak to my clients about all the time.
I am curious about something. What I have been seeing a great deal of lately are that people are getting called by SWA who have just recently filled out the online application. How many of you consistently update your resume with SWA or other airlines? I know for non-aviation employers, they usually search for people who have posted their resume in the last 90 days, because they figure the other people are already employed. I am not sure about SWA's resume system, but I wonder if the same thing might be happening. Just a theory...curious to hear the responses...
Here is the article.
Enjoy!

Many Users of Online Job-Hunting Sites Don't Update Their Resumes Very Often
If you're a perennial job hunter with a resume posted at an online job site, how often should you update it?
Most of us are fairly lax about that chore, according to a survey of users of the Monster search site, part of Monster Worldwide Inc. More than a quarter, 27 percent, said they refresh the resume annually, and a fifth said they do it only twice a year. Another 17 percent said they never update their online resume.
No big deal, right? Hmmm, think again.
Seventy percent of employers using Monster said they search only resumes posted in the past three months, seeking the freshest.
"The resume is the ultimate career marketing tool," said Steve Pogorzelski, president of Monster, North America. "Workers should ensure it evolves as their skills, capabilities, and accomplishments advance."
Another problematic area? Almost half of online job seekers, 45 percent, said they don't tailor their resume for each specific job.
The results were culled from nearly 15,000 replies to a survey of Monster users last month about their resume habits.
