University CFI's

I have a chance to be hired by my university as a CFI, CFII, MEI. I have done all of my training here and like it. Would this be a good way to build some time? Would I get a good amount of multi time? We have about 500 flight students here. Thanks

yep IMHO

Fl350....i know at my univ. the benefits are great...the hours are ok and the CP and Assists. are all great. I hope to work at mine after i gradumatate in the spring! If yours offers similar..id jump on it if you think youd like instructing. My too sense.

I did the university instructor thing after I graduated. I really enjoyed the chance to have a job where I went to school. Still had all my friends around and I was building fligh time.

The only downside for me was the summer flying. That was rather weak. It was hard to convince a student to stay for the summer. Had to get a second job.

The only thing I could warn of is being trapped. You are in a place you very comfortable and there is a chance you might lose your drive to move on. Maybe that isn't the case at your university.

I really enjoyed my time instructing at college. If I had to do it again I would do it again.
