"The Parties intend to negotiate a JCBA so that, taking into account the period for completing full contract language in plain clear terms and for necessary management and ALPA approvals, ratification and signatures, it will take effect on the Merger Closing Date. To achieve this goal, negotiations will begin pursuant to Section 6 of the RLA on or about August 10, 2010, and unless they otherwise agree the JNCs will then meet in direct negotiations at least four whole or partial days every week until October 5, 2010 with the intent of completing the negotiations within that eight-week period." -- TPA 2010

Yeah, "Industry Leading" has exited the emails since the AI announcement, you're not the only one to notice. The rumors haven't been good, and I too will be very insulted if we are not deemed worthy by our union and management of a Delta + contract.

I already know I'm ready to cast my no vote... I just hope our mec votes this crap down so we don't have too
Neither company nor the NMB rep will respect an MEC no vote even though they legally have to honor it of course. NMB can say she tried her best and is going home. Company can say the will of the pilots was never known, it was just those union hotheads, and therefore they'll just keep up the abuse of the last years.

I hope the MECs pass it and then the pilots vote it down, with prejudice, with a vote similar to the strike vote. 95% participation, 99% no. Only THAT will get the attention of the NMB and the company to realize how far off the mark they were. Going into the holidays the company will fear more summer of 2012 fun perhaps even APA style and will immediately up the offer to get it done and prevent a meltdown.

Or not, and we move the next phase of the legal process, eventually leading to release to strike. THIS is the only language the company hears.

with 10,000 applications on file of people hoping to land their dream job at a second class airline, because it is so much better than a 5th or 11th class airline.

Tell you what skippy There isn't 10000 apps on file here. This place sucks. Always have, always will. I was wearing rose colored glasses "think Elton john" when I got hired on. "How bad can it be?" I soon found out.
