Heard there was one. Any details?

Yeah, what the heck ever happened with that? Are they ever going to release the details? This has to be some kind of record wait from announcing a TA to releasing the TA to the membership.

CAL MEC Update 19 Oct

Turning to the TA, the JNC continues their work in Chicago. As of tomorrow (Saturday), they will have undergone a nineteen-day continuous push. I would like to be able to announce a completed TA as of this weekend, but despite very good progress made again this week, there remain a few language items to finalize. The JNC will provide a more detailed update tomorrow.

I am prepared to call the MEC into session when the TA is completed in its entirety. I have asked our staff to make the necessary arrangements so that there will no delays once the TA is done. I must also report that, despite my best efforts, so far the NMB has not released us from the gag order. As such, we are still not able to offer any new information. I know there are a lot of rumors out there. Like any set of rumors, some are partially accurate, some are very accurate and others are laughable. I can only say that no one wants the complete TA in your hands more than I do. No contract can or should be viewed or valued based on bits and pieces. A single chapter in a book never tells the whole story. As I have said many times since the AIP was reached, this is not a perfect contract. Negotiations, almost by definition, simply do not produce perfection. It is important to remember that just as one should not look at the positives of an agreement in isolation, the perceived faults should be viewed in the context of the entire deal as well.

Some pilots have looked at the few parts that were leaked and already announced their assessment of the entire contract, whether they thought it had merit or was devoid of value. I do not think doing so is fair to the MEC or to the rest of the pilot group who do want to look at the complete TA before making a decision. To take this fundamental right from our governing body or the pilots we represent would do a disservice to both. I have, throughout this process, had confidence in the JNC to negotiate for the absolute most value possible for all 12,000 pilots. I have confidence in the CAL MEC to consider the TA that is produced and determine whether or not it should be forwarded to the pilot group for ratification. And I have absolute confidence in our pilots if and when they are asked to vote on the TA, in its entirety.

JP's emails are entertaining. Already managing your expectations along with the company. You are right in that Industry Leading is not used anymore. Funny how Jeff got industry leading pay but we are not worth it.

This place has always been and forever will be a second class airline.
