I am based in NY working for a small Part 91 aviation department. Does anyone know of a place where we can get uniforms other than Brooks Brothers? We are looking at a standard airline type of uniform. Any help would be appreciated.

Tom

Since there are three major airports in the NYC area each with at least one crew base there should be no lack of uniform providers. Try the phone book. There will normally be close to the airport.

I am assuming that the uniform issue is coming from the 'Boss'. Do you do a lot of international flying? International flying is made easier with a standard type pilot uniform. Gold stripes are better. In these days of higher security, pilot uniforms are going out of style for many companies, as it ID's flight crews. But it really depends on the corporate culture of the company.

I agree,
most are not doing the stupid stripes anymore as it makes you look too much like a pilot.
Best to go with standard suit!

Try the Flight Station in Atlanta, GA. 404-766-0306. They provide all of the uniforms for Delta Airlines.

Yes, we do some international flying, mostly in the U.S. though. The owner prefers us to wear an airline type of uniform. I've worked for airlines based in NY and we got our uniforms from companies outside the NY area. There are a ton of uniform shops around, but none that I've come across do pilot uniforms. I have a few phone numbers for airline uniform shops that I plan on calling on Monday. I'm just hoping to find someone local (preferably Long Island), I figure that it would be easier with measurements, alterations, etc...

Thanks,
Tom
