Uniform Question

Allright I admit it, old habits die hard and I still wear shirt stays. The kind that keep your shirt tucked in and your socks pulled up , and uniform looking sharp all day. However, I am sick and tired of setting of the metal detector and being probed by the Thousands Standing Around every time I pass through because of them, (yes my shoes are deloused). So I am curious to know if anyone out there might know where I can find some Shirt stays/garters that don't have the metal clips and adjusters? I've tried to ask the folks at the exchange but they are clueless. I know some of you might laugh at this , but I don't care , it's just my thing.

Glutton for pain

How can you stand shirt stays all day if you don't have to? After four years in the Marine Corps the first thing I did when I got out was burn those uncomfortable S & M straps. Yes they make your uniform look good all day but the gouges in my calf aren't worth it... at least in my opinion.

As far as non-metal shirt stays, I've never seen them. That little loop has to be metal; I think plastic would break.

Good luck finding some non-metal ones and I feel your pain as far as the TSA idiots go, I always get stripped searched because of metal in the soles of my shoes.

What is a shirt stay ? Where would you purchase this, it may be the help i need. Getting in and out of a hot airplane all day makes me look sloppy fast.
