Hi folks, I'm looking for a Huey carcass to refurbish and use as a static display for a VFW in north Texas. I tried calling the boneyard at DM but since I am now a "retiree" didn't get much help. If anyone has any leads please PM me. Thanks a lot.

Pompano Beach

I don't know ANYTHING about this bird but there's an abandoned Huey at KPMP. Definately not goin anywhere fast. Again, don't know anything about the bird, might want to call the locals about it.

American Flyers has a flight school there, they might know. Goodyear blimp folks based there might know too.

Also one laying around at KBFD Bradford PA in front of the terminal.

Thanks

Thanks for the tips. Our VFW is made up largely of Vietnam army vets, many that flew in and out of combat on hueys. I'd like to honor them and feel that a UH-1 on a pedestal would do that nicely. We are in Roanoke Tx near Alliance airport but I do have access to a trailer to haul it here. Any guys that fly in here are certainly welcome to stop by for a beer or six!

There's an old D model sitting in Bainbridge GA that I know for a fact hasn't moved in over 10 years---it's gutted, but the fuselage, gear etc is decent so you might ask somebody at the FBO there---it's a crop-ducting field, so you might be able to get it just for the act of hauling it away. Hope that helps.
