Hello,
Was riding in back of an UAL flight, and was talking to a 35 year mech. He was saying that UAL has done everything except signed the final ink for the sale of the SFO MOC to Lufthansa, and the engine shop to Pratt and Whitney. How will this affect the overall operation?

Sorry to hear about that (if in fact that does happen). I know some of those people - great folks.
I would be surprised if UAL finds a dancing partner though. With Tilton shopping the airline for over a year now and nothing happening, I think UAL will be left without a partner. I think DAL is only interested in talking to UAL to see what's on their books. DAL/NWA is my best first guess at a merger.
Disclaimer: I realize that my best first guess doesn't matter in the big scheme of things. I'm entitled to my wrong opinion!
