Do the factories typically type their new hire Demo pilots? Gulfstream, Citation etc.

Citation is the same. New hires are typed in the 525 and 560. Then typed through out the product line.
 
Thanks for the info. That's what I assumed...I can't imagine anything otherise. I'm thinking of gearing my career in that direction. Anyone know how Bombardier handles this?

I talked with a Bombardier demo pilot a little over a year ago. I could be mistaken, but I believe he said all pilots are typed as new hires.

Actually, I heard that Bombardier is no longer typing their new hires...hence my question. That seems pretty strange on many levels.

This would seem pretty short sighted as demo pilots are expected to darn near have instructional knowledge
