---TWA INTEGRATION IS COMPLETE---
The integration of TWA in to American Airlines was officially completed
today. The final departure on TWA's Federal Aviation Administration
operating certificate will be Flight 2932 departing from DFW at 6:50 p.m.
and arriving in St. Louis at 8:34 p.m. The final arrival will be Flight
2868 from Denver to DFW, arriving at 8:57 p.m. AA took ownership of TWA
assets on April 9, 2001, creating a wholly owned subsidiary, TWA Airlines
LLC, which operated under its own certificate and operations
specifications until today.

but the fight continues........

Sad!

I live near JFK and it is sad to see all the logos and buildings left stray. It was nice to see old TWAy in the glory days at JFK with the L10's/74's etc.. Sad no-one has any nostalgia in them when it comes to this biz. Buy it and slash it to pieces.

Great read is "Howard Hughes Airline" an informal history of TWAy. Charles Lindbergh actually started at TWAy before going to PanAm. Real aviation pioneer. Let us not forget who did all this for us. Frankly, all the neat airlines are gone; Braniff,Western,Eastern,Ozark,PanAm,TWA,Piedmont,PSA,AirCal etc... I miss the gool old days.

Make an MD80 captain president of your company and you are going to be in for a disaster. Compton(sp?) should have never been given the chance from day 1, it was a bad dream come true the day he was given the shot.

It was truly a sad day when 75+ years of tradition came to an end.

give em hell guys...
