I thought I saw a thread in here not too long ago about filing using the turbo tax software and saw that several of you used it, so I thought I'd ask the question here. I e-filed my tax return using TT and it said it was accepted, and I am all done, but it never told me to mail in a copy of my W2 anywhere to substantiate the income that I reported. Is this normal if you e-file? I would have thought you would need to mail that in so the IRS knows how much you paid and was taken from your paychecks. This just seemed too easy to me so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss something.
Thanks

I used Turbo Tax last year also and didn't mail mine in. Just doing mine again for this year...So much fun...Just keep your records!!

Is that works also for the 1099MISC for the self employed instructor. I don't have to mail any form using the online turbotax e-filling??

TurboTax will tell you if your return has been accepted by the IRS or state agency after e-filing. It will also tell you what, if any, forms need to be mailed to the IRS and/or state agency after their acceptance. I would guess that for most of the people who file their own taxes there would be no other forms required. (Several years ago there were a couple of forms that I was required to mail in.)

Also TurboTax tells you what records/forms to print and keep for your own records.
