Wouldn't surprise me if it's true...

=====================================

From this article:
http://www.palmbeachillustrated.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=display_article&whicharticle=28

"There are no delays, cancellations or lost luggage, and you can crawl into bed if you’re sleepy. The Donald has his very own airplane. It is a Boeing 727, 30 years old, but young in use — it still has half its life left. The crew consists of chief pilot Mike Donovan, a co-pilot and engineer, all of whom came from Eastern Airlines."

Now check the scablist, page 34:
http://www.chrisurquieta.com/scabmasterlist.pdf

"Donovan Michael F EAL 89 22983"

Anybody know any details??

Yes he is indeed a EAL Scab from 1989. I believe he was a holdover from when Trump bought the EAL Shuttle.

And that affects me and everyone else here how? So the point that it matters to all of us in 121, 135, 91 is (drumroll………………………………........................................................................................................................................................................................................) nada!

Being a scab doesn't seem to hurt your career in the corporate environment. Just look at Clay Lacy.

Unions are irrelevant to corporate aviation.

If this is true I will not fly Trump Airlines!!:D

Trump

Wil,

The good Donald will no doubt be crushed that you will not be flying with them anymore. Especially since you are distressed that he would hire a pilot that offended the airline pilots of the world. Actually, neither one cares much. They got on with their lives unlike some others that are permanantly embossed in the past.

I find it funny that most of those who B1tch about scabs are the same people that I was in High School with, or younger, during the EAL, CAL, UAL strikes. I've even been out for drinks with myself and all three types. Those who went out and stayed out, those who went out and returned, and those who crossed to get a job. Now that was interesting, they did't fight yell or curse, they just didn't care any more.

Are you a former SCAB?

Joe,
Being that you are new to aviation or at least this board I suggest you do some research or pay attention. If you read the post that you so diligently excerpted you would notice the reference to me in High School at the time of those job actions. Since then the only other strike at a 121 carrier that I know of since that time was at Comair. And their my highlighting professor of rectal-cranium inversion was a place I have much familiarity. If you feel or think I’m being condescending, you are correct.

FLB717-
You sound like a real pleasure to fly with. You seem to be implying that since these backstabbers crossed the line years ago we should let bygones be bygones and move on. We all just shouldn't care about the fact that they willingly tried to screw thousands of pilots out of their carreers and undermine the profession for future pilots? Those who fail to study the past are doomed to repeat it. Not your problem huh? In general tolerance is a great thing but not when it comes to SCABS in a union dominated profession. As much as we love to bitch about Alpa this profession wouldn't be half what it is without union representation and SCABS have tried their best to undermine that representation. I don't think you are in any position to be condescending.

Get over it.

You sound like a bunch of Democrates talking about the 2000 election. You lost it's over. EAL is dead. Get over it.

Sorry Fat fingers

scabs

I have a clarification question:

In the EAL strike, the EAL pilots that continued to fly (is this crossing the line?), they are scabs right?
Were there pilots that applied for jobs after the strike started? Like to take advantage of the available jobs?

Are these two scabs the same? Is one worse than the other?

I fly for a charter that utilized lots of ex EAL pilots.
These guys were all old and I am sure they were the ones that crossed the picket line, not applied for a job once the strike started.

Never mind all that- I really dig the chicks in the Apprentice!!
Been too busy working, need to get my copy of FHM magazine.
FF:D :D :p :p

FLB717 "And that affects me and everyone else here how"
Do you really not understand how scabs hurt the industry? There are some good books out there that will give you more than a few examples of how YOUR industry is affected. Please, for all of our sake, read them.

BizAvFa, you are correct. Scabs are those who did not honor (crossed) the picket line while their brothers were on strike.
The second type is an even worse breed (who knew it was possible!) often referred to as "super scabs." These lowlifes came off the street (from other jobs,) drooling at the chance to step on everybody else's back, just for the chance to fly a shiny jet. These are not people who crossed to feed their family, or even because they disagreeed with the strike. These are people who have nothing but contempt for their fellow man, and will not hesitate to stab someone in the back for their personal profit. Despicable.

I have walked a picket line and that is more than most who make a a rush to judge and condem on this forum can say. I went 10K in debt for that and had nothing but a broken dream and life to show for it. It would have taken me at least 7 years to make up the lost income at Comair that my raise would have provided, is that worth it? While I personaly could never cross the line I have little say on how others during those terrible times think or act. I would be hard pressed to say that loosing my house and kicking my children out of college, to support another groups efforts by walking myself would be an easy choice. That being said while I wonder as to the reason to why many did what they did, I can also see the reasons many crossed or returned to the jobs they had prior to the EAL strike. In my opinion that strike should never have happened. The point I made is that those who fought the fight and those who didn't (crossed to get a job) if they can not shoot each other on sight how much room do I have to judge based on the fact I was in High school and just trying to get laid, let alone build a career. They have mostly gotten over it, why would a new 1900 FO have his knickers in a bunch? DCitrus9 I don't need to read any books, I have and I LIVED a smaller version so dont tell me what I may think or understand. I know better than many the trials and tribulations of putting yourself and girlfriend out of work. You think you wife is pissed when you don't take out the trash, try putting her on the curb for 6 months. Few places will hire you and with no Medical Insurence a person gets even a cold and the bill is rather large. Combine that with paying the bills for both of you during that time with 1000 bucks a month and you have to pay taxes on that along with rent/mortgacge etc and it adds up fast. The reference was scabs in Corp aviation, a moot point vs 121. If you look and I mean really look into EAL's position prior to, during and after you to would wonder WTF it all about. I am not deffending anyone, the point is if some guy fly's for Trump or Sen. Kerry how does that affect anthing in the current 121 enviroment, it doesn't. Yet we as pilots tell the Comair guys they asked for to much, a living wage. Then others scope jobs for jets, or what ever and that is ok? Get over it, but remember. And the quote is "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it, Woodrow Wilson"
